Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that ought to be on this page, please let us know on Twitter @snapjoy or send us a note.

How many photos can I store on Snapjoy?

We provide uncapped storage for your photos. Upload all your photos (we have users with over 20,000 photos on the site so far).

How much will Snapjoy cost?

Snapjoy is free during the beta. We're planning to roll out metered pricing, so you'll only pay for what you need. See our pricing page for more details.

Does Snapjoy compress or down-sample my photos?

No, we keep a copy of your digital originals. You can download the uncompressed originals at any time.

Who can see the pictures I upload to Snapjoy?

All of the pictures you upload are private by default. You may choose to share photos with others through our sharing and visibility features.

Can I re-download pictures from Snapjoy?

Yes. You can re-download full resolution originals of the photos you've uploaded in JPEG format.

How does Snapjoy organize my photos?

We watched how many people manage their photos, and devised algorithms to do most, if not all, of that hard work for you. At the moment, we present your photo library in a cohesive timeline. As we gather more information from your photographs, we can organize them in even more meaningful ways, so you're never more than a few clicks away from the pictures you want to see.

Does this service only organize my photos?

Snapjoy also stores your photos, so you won't need to worry about backing them up. Of course, we have many of other bells and whistles in the app. But at the core, we want to make it so easy to enjoy your photos that you'll never have to think about managing them.

Where does Snapjoy store my photos?

We presently store your originals and associated thumbnails on Amazon S3. In the near future, we will provide redundant storage of your originals across multiple independent cloud storage providers.

Who owns the pictures I upload to Snapjoy?

You do. From our Terms of Service: We claim no intellectual property rights over the material you provide to the Service. Your profile and materials uploaded remain yours.

Are my photos locked-in to the service?

No. We want to make it easy to liberate your data from our system if you choose. We will be offering services to let you replicate your photos on Snapjoy to a personal Amazon S3 bucket or Dropbox account. Please stay tuned.
